Contest 11 Winner: Kevin Quilliam

Congratulations to Kevin Quilliam, winner of Contest 11!

Kevin first came to Quantopian with an idea in mind that required backtesting several different pairs of securities. After lots of backtesting, he put together a strategy that performed just as well out of sample as it did in backtesting.

He notes that his background in programming, though not in Python, helped him to pick up the Quantopian API fairly quickly. He also credits the community with being open and helpful, contrary to other forums that he has come across in the industry.

Kevin founded SRECTrade, a SREC transaction and management firm as well as InClime, a company that runs renewable programs for utilities and state agencies. He has a strong background in programming, business, and finance and leveraged his experience to write a contest-winning algorithm on Quantopian.

We've already paid out over $22,000 in contest earnings. Submit your algorithm to the contest by the next deadline, June 1 at 9:30AM ET, for a chance to win!
