Short Stock Availability with IB

I'm interested in determining the availability of stocks to short and the anticipated borrow rate for backtesting. If not for backtesting, at least for live trades.

IB provides a tool to get this data as described here:

and at least to some extent through their API here:

I wasn't able to find a reference to it in the Q API. Is this data currently available?

Hello Ryan - we don't currently have borrow availability or cost within our simulator. It's definitely something that we want to add. We don't have a solution in-process, but it's been getting a lot of discussion in our product planning, and has been moving up the priority list.

This is now the end of 2018. Still Quantopian has not tackled this issue. Kinda wonder where the the emphasis in product planning really is.
