There's been a lot of fuss by some in the political sphere over corporations not paying their fair share of taxes, including lists of large corporations not paying any taxes at all. I'm curious if there are metrics that could be rolled into one or more factors that would capture the "taxiness" of companies? How hard would it be to extract an "effective tax rate" from the Factset data?
Per this article, it's not so easy to determine the taxes paid:
