Why does close and open price change?

Hi,

This is a bit of a newbie question, but why does close and open price for a stock change every minute?

My understanding was that close price is the last price paid for the stock when the market closes and that opening price is the first price paid for a stock when the market opens? It seems like the close and open price are set in regards to that specific minute interval.

open_price and close_price refer to the open and close price at the frequency of the bar, not market open and close price. In this case, the open_price refers to the price at the start of the minute bar, and close_price refers to the current price at that timestamp,

If you wanted to get market open and close prices, set frequency='daily in your get_pricing call
